Shandong automotive authorities are in talks with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) for possible cooperation in Shandong Daewoo, peopledaily.com.cn reported last week.
Insiders believe that Shandong Daewoo, a joint venture between Shandong Automotive Industry Corporation and South Korea-based Daewoo Motors, covets the technological support that SAIC, Shanghai General Motors in particular, can provide.
Korean sources said US General Motors will acquire Korean Daewoo Motors, leaving aside Daewoo Motors' joint ventures outside South Korea.
