Northwest China: From December 6–7, western and northern Xinjiang will be overcast with light snowfall, accompanied by force 5–7 northerly winds. Temperatures will also drop 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. From December 7–8, eastern portions of the region will see force 4–5 northerly winds with light snow or rainfall possible in some areas; Temperatures in this area will drop 3 to 6 degrees Celsius. From December 9–11, a stronger stream of cold air will blow throughout the region, bringing strong winds, snowfall and chillier temperatures.
North China: On December 6, the northernmost area of the region will receive light snowfall, with both the north and east blown by force 4–5 northerly winds. The remaining areas will see sunny to cloudy skies. From December 8–9, streams of cold air will bring force 4–6 southerly, then northerly winds to most of the region, with light snow expected in some of the central and eastern portions; temperatures will also drop 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. From December 11–12, most of the north will continue to experience light snow or rain, strong winds and low temperatures.
Northeast China: From December 6–7, most of the region will see light snowfall with moderate to heavy snow expected in some of the eastern and northern sections; Most of the region will experience force 4–6 southerly, then northerly winds and temperatures will drop 6–9 degrees Celsius. From December 9–10, another stream of cold air will carry light to moderate snowfall to most of the northeast, with heavy snow in some areas, accompanied by force 4–6 northerly winds and a drop in the mercury. From December 11–12, force 4–5 northerly winds will continue to blow through most of the region, with light snow or rainfall expected in the southern sections.
Central China: On December 6, most of the region will meet force 4–5 northerly winds with temperatures dropping 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. From December 8–9, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with northerly winds at force 4 in the northern sections, while Henan, Hubei and central and northern Hunan Province will be overcast with light rain or snow and low temperatures. From December 11–12, most of central China will be overcast with light rain or snow following, while portions of Hunan will receive moderate rainfall. Northern portions of central China will continue to have force 4–5 northerly winds with temperatures dropping.
East China: On December 6, Shandong Province, northern parts of Jiangsu and Anhui Province will be overcast with possible light rainfall or snow, while southern parts of east China will be cloudy to sunny. Most of the east will have force 4–5 northerly winds with temperatures dropping 4 to 6 degrees Celsius. From December 8–9, areas north of the Yangtze River will be cloudy to overcast with light rainfall or snow expected in some places, accompanied by force 4–6 northerly winds and colder temperatures. Southern areas of the east will be cloudy with morning fog. From December 11–12, most of the region will see clouds with rain or snow moving from north to south. Heavy rainfall is expected in some areas south of the Yangtze River; while the northern section of the region will see force 4–5 northerly winds and further declines in the temperature.
South China: Little precipitation will be seen in most of the region this week. From December 6–7, most of the region will be sunny to cloudy with force 4 northerly winds and lower temperatures in the coastal areas. From December 8–10, most of the south will be under cloudy to overcast skies with light rainfall expected in the western and northern sections, while eastern sections will be cloudy with possible morning fog. From December 11–12, light rain should fall over most of the south.
Southwest China: From December 6–7, most of the region will be under cloudy to sunny skies with fog in the Sichuan Basin. From December 8–10, eastern portions will be dominated by overcast and cloudy skies, while eastern and southern Sichuan Basin, Guizhou, Chongqing and northern and eastern Yunnan Province will receive light rainfall or snow with moderate to heavy rainfall expected in some regions. From December 11–12, eastern parts of the southwest will be dampened by another light rain or snow, with a drop in temperature.
