New Projects for 2005 Spring Festival Transport

The Ministry of Railways has brought in 242 trains to start running. This is part of a three-point project to deal with basic transport, rush hours and unexpected incidents.

Preparations have started for the annual Spring Festival transport meltdown.

The rush to spend the Chinese New Year at home is set to begin in mid-January when many university students will travel.

From the end of January to the 5th of Mar 2005, the Ministry expects a volume of 145 million journeys.
