Tanzania is set to take part in the scheduled tourism exhibition in April in Beijing to further tap its tourism resources, according to the Tanzania Tourist Board.
Plans are now under consideration for opening direct flights from Tanzania to China, which signed a memorandum of understanding on Tourism with Tanzania last year, said board managing director Peter Mwenguo.
"The exhibition in Beijing is therefore of paramount significance for Tanzania," the director said, adding that it will be the first time for his country to take part in such tourism-oriented exhibitions in China.
The official cited as favorite prerequisites to further tap Tanzania's tourism resources political stability and hospitality of local people apart from the country's assortment of tourist attractions in national parks, nature conservation areas, UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) world heritage sites and Mount Kilimanjaro.
