Weekly Weather Forecast (August 8 to 14)

Northwest China: August 8 to 10, western and northern Xinjiang and eastern parts of the region will have light to moderate rain or thundershowers. August 11 to 12, eastern parts will continue to have showers or thundershowers with heavy rainfall or storms expected in some areas, while other parts will be sunny to cloudy with higher temperatures. August 13 to 15, western and northern Xinjiang will be overcast with rainfall, while eastern parts will continue to receive showers or thundershowers.

 

North China: August 8 to 9, affected by Typhoon Matsa, eastern and southern parts will experience moderate to heavy rainfall with heavy to stormy rain expected in some areas, accompanied by strong winds in some places. August 10 to 12, affected by streams of cold air, most of the region will see frequent showers or thundershowers. August 13 to 14, northernmost and eastern parts will continue to receive showers or thundershowers.

 

Northeast China: August 8 to 10, due to streams of cold air and Typhoon Matsa, most parts will see thundershowers or light to moderate rainfall with heavy to stormy rainfall possible in some central and southern areas, accompanied by heavy rainstorms and strong winds in some places. August 11 to 14, affected by streams of cold air, most of the region will see showers or thundershowers with temporary lightning, strong winds or even hail.

 

Central China: August 8 to 10, most parts will be dominated by sunny to cloudy skies. August 11 to 12, western and northern areas will see thundershowers or light to moderate rain with heavy rainfall possible in some places, while eastern portions will have sunny skies with high temperatures. August 13 to 14, most areas will be hot with temperatures over 35 degrees Celsius in some areas, while southeastern Hunan will see showers.

 

East China: August 8 to 9, affected by Typhoon Matsa, northern parts will experience moderate to heavy rainfall with heavy rain to storms in some areas and heavy rainstorms on the Shandong Peninsula; northern coastal areas will have force 6 to 8 gales, with force 8 to 10 gales in some areas; southern parts will see light to moderate rain. August 10 to 12, northern areas will be cloudy with showers or thundershowers, central and southern parts will become hot with temperatures over 35 degrees Celsius possible. August 13 to 14, central and northern parts will be humid with high temperatures, while southern parts will meet showers or thundershowers with cloudbursts possible in some areas and strong winds near the coast.

 

South China: August 8 to 10, most parts will have thundershowers or light to moderate rainfall with heavy rain in some places. August 11 to 12, western and southern coastal areas will meet showers or thundershowers, northern and eastern areas will be muggy with highest temperatures probably beyond 35 degrees Celsius. August 13 to 14, affected by the tropical cyclone, eastern and southern portions will see rain with heavy rainfall or storms in some areas and strong winds along the coast.  

 

Southwest China: The region will experience frequent showers or thundershowers during the week. August 8 to 10, most parts will meet thundershowers or light to moderate rainfall with heavy rainfall in some areas. August 11 to 12, eastern Tibet and eastern parts of the region will receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers. August 13 to 14, western Sichuan, Yunnan and western and southern Guizhou will continue to see rain.
