A six-day cross-straits tourism exposition is scheduled to be held on Sept. 6 in the city of Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province.
The exposition, the first of its kind across the Taiwan Straits, is an important part of the Xiamen Investment and Trade Fair which opens on Sept. 8, said the provincial government spokesman Zhu Qing. The exposition will be cosponsored by the National Tourism Administration and the Fujian provincial government, he said.
The organizing committee set up 320 booths with an exhibition area of 7000 square meters.
The spokesman said the contracts of 229 tourism projects, valued at 2.2 billion US dollars, are expected to be signed at the exposition.
A cross-straits tourism forum will also be held during the exposition.
