In the first nine months this year, a total of 89.63 million overseas tourists came to China's mainland, up 12.17 percent year on year, the Economic Daily quoted figures from the National Tourism Administration as saying Wednesday.
In September alone, the number was 9.89 million, up 7.77 percent year on year, the Economic Daily reported.
During the nine months, the forex tourism revenue in China totaled US$21.99 billion, up 18.15 percent year on year, according to the newspaper.

One-day tourists spent US$233 million in China during the month, while other overseas tourists spent US$2.26 billion in China, figures show.
