Taiyuan Airport Resumes Operation

The Taiyuan Airport in north China's Shanxi Province, which was closed down Sunday evening due to a landing slip, resumed normal operation on Monday.

Airport sources said the HU7690 flight of Hainan Airlines, from northeast China's of Dalian to Taiyuan, slanted out of the runway while landing at 7:26 p.m. Sunday.

No casualty was reported from the accident, but it caused eight flights to land on an alternate airstrip and 12 others delayed. The airport was closed down.

The investigation into the cause of the slip is underway.
