Guangdong-Jiangxi Expressways to Be in Operation

The expressway linking Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces will open at the end of this month. And another expressway connecting Zhanjiang and Chongqing will also be put into operation on a trial basis.

The Guangdong-Jiangxi Expressway is an important part of a national route starting from the Arong County, Inner Mongolia and ending in Shenzhen. With a total length of 136 kilometers, the four-lane expressway began construction in December 2003, linking the Shanglin Township bordering the two provinces with the expressway between Heyuan and Huizhou.

As the first expressway connecting the two provinces, it will help shorten the driving time between Guangzhou and Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, to seven hours.

The Zhanjiang-Chongqing expressway has a length of 1,384 kilometers and goes through Guizhou and Guangxi.
