Spring Festival Rush Around the Corner

With the coming of the Lunar New Year at the end of January, the spring festival rush will soon begin.

Starting in the middle of next month, the 40-day rush period will witness a skyrocketing increase in passenger volume nationwide, with migrant workers being the major force.

Different departments of the Chinese transportation system have made full preparations for the busy season.

South China's Guangzhou city not only has its municipal railway station redecorated, but also equipped its railway station and bus station with two more police stations.

Chongqing has established China's first railway special force.

To make ticket-booking more convenient, northeast China's Shenyang has made online booking available.

Usually, there's a hike in the price of train tickets every year during the spring festival rush. However, this time, the price of economy seats for migrant workers will be kept the same.

Meanwhile, travel agencies have plunged themselves into the spring festival promotion campaign.

In south China's Guangdong province, the price of domestic tour listed in the travel agencies is 10 percent down.
