Swedish Ship Gotheborg Arrives in Shanghai Today

The Swedish ship Gotheborg approaches Wusong Port in Shanghai yesterday. It is expected to sail into the Huangpu River today.

After almost 10 months at sea, the Swedish ship Gotheborg will arrive in Shanghai today.

The tall ship will first drop anchor at the Wusong Port in Baoshan District at 2pm so a group of Swedish officials, including the mayor of Gotheborg and Princess Victoria can board.

It will then set off for the International Cruise Terminal at the northern end of the Bund.

City leaders will take part in a welcoming ceremony there at 5pm.

The ship will berth at the harbor for the next two months during which it will be opened to the public, though opening times and the ticket prices have not been confirmed yet.

An entertainment area will also be arranged beside the ship and a series of activities, exhibitions and seminars will be held to introduce locals to the history and culture of Sweden.
