Travel Agencies Target Senior Citizens in Autumn

Beijing's travel agencies will focus more on senior citizens in September.

The clear blue skies, moderate sunshine and dry air of northern China's autumn and relatively fewer tourists make September an ideal time period for senior citizens to travel.

Travel agencies in Beijing are promoting package tours designed to serve the city's senior citizens.

China Travel Service (Hong Kong) is offering a four-day fishing trip to Beidaihe, a sea resort in neighboring Hebei Province. The tour group departs early September for 580 yuan. The other itinerary will cover northeastern Chinese sea resort Dalian and Penglai in eight to 10 days for around 1,000 yuan.

China Youth Travel Service is offering a six-day trip to Hainan Island with round-trip flights for seniors tourists at 2,560 yuan.

Compared with other itineraries, itineraries designed for senior citizens are longer, less tiring and favor sea resorts.
