Adjust font size:

Malaysian Meteorology Department on Tuesday forecast heavy rains and strong wind in northern peninsula because of Typhoon Durian.

Typhoon Durian was tracking south-westerly from the southeast of Vietnam at 24 kilometers per hour, crossing the Thai Gulf and heading to Malaysia, it said in a statement.

As a result, heavy rains and strong winds are forecast to hit most places in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis states from Tuesday night until Wednesday night, the department said.
