The food quality in Shanghai this year is found improved from a year before, according to a special inspection conducted by Shanghai Vice Mayor Yang Xiaodu, together with local heath officials on some local supermarkets, fair trade and food manufacturers yesterday morning.
The inspection is aimed to guarantee the local food quality in the upcoming Spring Festival holiday.
This year's inspection is focusing on how the unsold food is tackled in local supermarket or fair trades, and the food retailers are required to display their goods-return tickets.
Besides cooked food must having certificates, the food in bulk has new management and sales standardizations including demonstrating date of production and expiry date clearly on food.
