East China's Yancheng City in Jiangsu Province is expected to open an air route to Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea (ROK), on March 28, which will be the city's first international air route. The flights are primarily scheduled twice a week, mostly to serve business people from ROK working in the city, according to local aviation sources on Wednesday.
Yancheng has witnessed soaring cooperation with ROK in the economic, cultural and technological fields over recent years. Eighty-seven ROK firms have registered to invest in the city so far.
The present air routes from Yancheng are to the national capital of Beijing, Guangzhou in south China's Guangdong Province, and Nantong in Jiangsu Province.
