Chinese Liu Xiang clocked a winning time of 13.61 seconds to advance into the men's 110m hurdles final at the 21st Universiade here on Monday.
The 18-year-old Liu, whose personal best is 13.32 seconds, finished the race with the same time in the first round.
Ron Bramlett of the United States came in second in 13.64 seconds, followed by Cuban Soler Herrandez in 13.66.
The men's 110m hurdles final will take place on Tuesday
