Bell Kenwood of the United States seized the gold medal of men's triple jump with 17.22 meters at the 21st Universiade this afternoon. This equaled his best seasonal record.
"I was very pleased after competing in the long jump to be able to come back and won after three days of competition," he said at the after-match press conference. The 24-year-old graduate student from Northwest State University began his athletic life when he was 13, he said.
The silver medal went to Oprea Marian from Romania with 17.11 meters, while Gregorio Jadel took the bronze with 16.92 meters.
