According to
Changsha Evening News, Xu Mingwen, an
ordinary farmer from
Hunan, recently made a TV drama named
Father, I Should Not Lie to You. He was both the actor and
director of this drama. It debuted in the Liuyang Sixth High
School, and some 3,000 teachers and students had watched it.
The TV series tells a simple story that a college student named
Hu Wenrong from a poor rural area. She often dreams of living in
luxury. She asks her parents to buy her computer for use in study
but actually he wants to buy a cell phone. Her parents have already
borrowed a lot of money for her college tuition, and can not but
only earn money by collecting garbage. Finally her father is sent
to hospital because of overwork. It is only then that Hu regrets to
what a wrong thing she has done before. Most viewers thought it was
a good drama. Some of them even broke into tears when they watched
the touching scenes.
This TV series was also shown through the local TV station
before this year's National Day holiday. Many locals also watched
it and believed "it reflects our daily life in the countryside
faithfully."
Peng Yiping, headmaster of the Liuyang Gugang High School
believes Xu is really courageous to invest hundreds of thousands of
yuan shooting a TV drama. He also thinks the drama demonstrates
farmers' frugality mindfulness that should call upon young
generation to learn.
