Jay Chou, Lee-Hom Wang, Zhang Liangying and Zhou Bichang are
just some of the luminaries competing for honors at the 13th
Chinese Music Awards on Thursday night in Shanghai.
The lead-up to the largest music awards night in China began at
the end of last year. Stars like Jin Hai Hsin, Sha Baoliang, Zhang
Liangying and Shuimunianhua performed in special ceremony to launch
the awards in Beijing.
Three more warm-up shows with high-profile Chinese musicians
were later staged in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
The nominees for some of the awards are listed below.
Best Male Singer (Mainland): Xu Wei, Anson Hu,
Zhang Jingxuan, Sha Baoliang and Michael Zhen.
Best Male Singer (Hong Kong and Taiwan): Eason
Chan, Jacky Zhang, Kenji Wu, David Tao and Jay Chou.
Best Female Singer (Mainland): Jin Hai Hsin, Jin
Sha, Icy Cao, Wang Zhen and Li Huizhen.
Best Female Singer (Hong Kong and Taiwan): Jolin
Tsai, Penny Dai, Ah-Mei, Tanya Chua and Fish Leong.
