Veteran Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung's concert tour due to come
up over the weekend has met with an unexpected "cold shoulder" at
Nanchang, south China's Jiangxi Province.
Organizer of the concert disclosed to Xinhua news agency that
only thirty percent of the tickets for Friday's concert were sold
till April 10. The concert probably will not make ends meet.
Reports say the high ticket prices account for one of the major
reasons behind the embarrassed lower box office takings as such
ticket prices are obviously unbearable to the majority of local
average income earners. The highest price for each ticket is up to
1,880 yuan and the lowest ones are at 180 yuan.
The organizer, however, confessed that the burden still has to
go to customers since the cost of the concert is huge. The
organizer said the fact that some 800 tickets have been given out
for free has added much to the concert cost.
The star's world tour titled with "Long Time No See" kicked off
in Las Vegas with a pair of concerts on February 18 and 19. More
than 30 cities around the world are on the tour list.
