Following a top-selling European tour and a 41-city sold-out
United States tour, American pop star Christina Aguilera is
bringing her world tour to Shanghai.
The one-night-only concert, as part of her "Back to Basics" 2007
world tour, will be held at the Shanghai Grand Stage on June 26. It
will be the Grammy winner's debut on the Chinese mainland.
Tickets, costing from 200 yuan (US$26) to 2,000 yuan, go on sale
today.
They are available on two hotlines (6481-2039, 404-707-9999) and
the Internet (www.emma.cn).
The Shanghai Grand Stage has a capacity of 8,400.
The concert will feature a unique stage design, said Jonathan
Krane, president and CEO of the local organizer Emma
Entertainment.
The stage will be illuminated by more than 600 moving lights and
feature a state-of-the-art hydraulic system.
Aguilera is known for her provocative dance routines and lyrics.
She has found success with hit songs including Dirrty. Her
second album was called Stripped.
Aguilera has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, scored
four No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and has won four
Grammy Awards and a Latin Grammy Award.
Her Asian tour will start on June 18 in Osaka, Japan. Apart from
Shanghai, she will also perform in Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Hong Kong
and Manila.
