As the lead in David Wu's new love story Iron Road,
Chinese actress Sun Li is making in-roads in her wooing of Western
fans.
Shooting of the joint Canada-China film production recently
started, according to Saturday's The Beijing News.
Sun Li plays a poor Chinese girl in search of her father who is
working on a railroad in North America, along the way she falls in
love with the son of a Canadian railroad tycoon.
Sun Li will work alongside Hong Kong veteran Tony Leung Ka Fai,
Canadian actor Luke MacFarlane, and Irishman Peter O'Toole.
The 25-year-old actress says having to speak English in the film
does pose a great challenge, but that she is currently working hard
on polishing her English language skills.
Sun Li made her film debut in the 2006 martial arts hit
Fearless. However, she is a prolific TV actress, well
known for her role in the Jade Goddess of Mercy.
