Chinese actress Huang Shengyi is tipped to be the leading actress in Hong Kong director Jeffrey Lau's new potential blockbuster film, literally translated as The Lotus out of Water.

Lau has over the past decade considered making the movie, and thinks it could be more successful than his earlier hits including A Chinese Odyssey, web site Sina.com reported on Tuesday.

The web site reports Huang Shengyi will soon sign with Hong Kong-based Emperor Motion Pictures which produces dozens of blockbusters each year, also which will make Lau's new film.

Director Lau reportedly said the script had been revised several times to show Huang Shengyi's all-around talents including dancing and swimming.
