Mayday Invites Top Students to Beijing ConcertsTaiwan pop band
Mayday will invite brilliant Beijing students to attend their
concerts, dubbed "Jump! The World 2007" at the Beijing Exhibition
Theatre on August 4 and August 5.
These lucky students are expected to be chosen from among those
who achieved high marks in their semester examination.
An organizer surnamed Han told Star Daily that many
parents think listening to pop music affects their children's
studies, so Mayday are unusual by inspiring students to work
harder.
Since most of Mayday's fans are students in middle schools or
colleges, the organizers scheduled the concert during the summer
vacation to attract larger crowds.
Organisers said nearly one million yuan (US$ 131,000) worth of
tickets have been booked.
In order to pay back the enthusiasm of their Beijing fans, the
band has written a song especially for them and will play it during
their shows.
A short film starring five members of the band and costing 3
million Taiwan dollars (US$91,000) will also be played at the
concerts.
