Hong Kong comedy actor and TV drama
Monkey King star Dicky
Cheung will pick up another Monkey King persona in a film planned
by Columbia Pictures, the
Yangtze Evening Post reported.
Dicky Cheung led two Monkey King series in 1996 and
2002 separately, both of which were well-received when aired on
Hong Kong's TV station TVB.
After the 2002 drama finished shooting, the star for a long time
said: "I won't play any more Monkey King roles, unless it's in a
Hollywood film". Well, now it comes true!
A source said the investment in the film is expected to reach
HK$60 million, or more than US$7.6 million.
