Yan Bingyan, lead actress
of the film "Teeth of Love".
"Pain is the shortcut to Love". That's what a new romance film
tries to tell its audience through the stories it narrates.
A premiere ceremony was held on Tuesday in Beijing for the
low-budget film Teeth of Love. Director Zhuang Yuxin and
the film leads attended the event, Sina entertainment reports.
Mainland actress Yan Bingyan played a 30-something woman in the
movie, one whose three romances all end in physical as well as
psychological pain.
Against the development of the lead actress, it also documents
the backdrop of the rapid social and economic change in the Chinese
mainland in recent decades.
As the debut feature of the experienced screenwriter and an
associate professor at the prestigious Beijing Film Academy, Zhuang
disclosed that it took him nearly 10 years to perfect the
screenplay. No wonder it has received so much applause from the
critics.
The film has been played at the 2007 Deauville Asian Film
Festival in France and also won the award for Best Feature at the
14th Beijing Student Film Festival. It was invited to attend the
31st Montreal World Film Festival, which starts on August 24, the
day of its public release.
