A Thursday press conference in Beijing unveiled final nominees
for the event's 18 awards, where "the Knot" snapped up votes far
more than any other candidates.
The film's director Yin Li is in competition for the best
director award with "Tokyo Trial" director Gao Qunshu and four
other rivals.
Chen Kun, who won the best actor award at August's Huabiao Film
Awards, will vie for the title again with five contenders.
Huabiao Awards' best actress Li Bingbing is also eying another
award for her role in "the Knot." Competing with her are Rene Liu
and Carina Lau.
Final winners will be announced during the 16th Golden Rooster
and Full Blossom Film Festival, running from October 23 to 28 in
the eastern Chinese city of Suzhou.
Debuted in 1981, the Golden Rooster Awards are among the most
prestigious honors for Chinese films, and have been dubbed a
Chinese version of the Academy Awards.
