Hong Kong singer and actress Charlie Yeung, or Yang Caini, showed up at a charity event in Taipei on Sunday, urging people to care more about blind children from needy families.

Yang said there are many children in remote mountainous areas who have lost their eye sight simply because they lack the money for proper medical care and people should reach out a helping hand.

The project, jointly organised by Standard Chartered Bank and the Orbis Foundation, aims to raise 3,000,000 Taiwan dollars (US$93,000), which will be used to assist around 3,000 blind children in remote areas.
