South Korean actress Kim Hee-Sun, one of the most popular stars
in Asia, has tied the knot with a local businessman in a tightly
cordoned-off marriage ceremony, news reports said Saturday.
The 30-year-old heartthrob married Park Ju-Young, 33, whom she
has been dating for more than a year.
Some 200 people, mostly her relatives and friends, were allowed
to attend the ceremony held at a posh hotel in eastern Seoul which
was swamped by hundreds of fans and photographers late Friday,
Yonhap news agency said.
Kang Chang-Hee, a senior official of South Korea's opposition
Grand National Party, officiated at the wedding and asked the
couple "to lead a charitable life as the late American screen star
Audrey Hepburn did."
Hee-Sun was at the forefront of a wave of Korean pop culture
throughout Asia.
She starred in many TV dramas and movies, including a 2005 film
The Myth which featured her and popular Hong Kong action
star Jackie Chan.
