Venerated Hong Kong musician Anthony Wong Yiu Ming is throwing a big Christmas party for his fans -- his first ever solo concert on the Chinese mainland.

Hong Kong musician Anthony Wong Yiu Ming attends a press conference on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in Shanghai, where he announced he would perform a solo concert in the city on December 24.

Wong announced at a Tuesday press conference in Shanghai that he will come back to the city for a solo concert on Christmas Eve.

The show, to be held at Shanghai Grand Stage, is being organized by the music production company People Mountain People Sea, for whom Wong is the director.

Wong said the show would be a review of his two-decade-long career. Fans can also expect to hear him cover a hit song by Jay Chou, who Wong called one of his favorite musicians.

Forty-five-year-old Wong, now a singer, songwriter and producer, launched his career in 1984 being a DJ for Commercial Radio Hong Kong. He was formerly known as a member of the phenomenally popular Tat Ming Pair group, before reaching a career high as a solo artist in the mid-1990s.

In 1999, Wong co-founded People Mountain People Sea. The company has helped produce albums and songs for such A-list singers as Leslie Cheung, Faye Wong, Eason Chan, Karen Mok, and Miriam Yeung.
