New mum J-Lo certainly has a head for figures - US reports say she spent US$1.4 million on giving birth to her twins.

But while that may seem a staggering amount to some - it's not so bad when you consider the US$6 million she is getting for exclusive pictures of the babies.

The 38-year-old delivered a boy and a girl at New York's North Shore University Hospital on February 22.

And insiders say she has been overheard calling the tots Maximiano and Emelina.

J-Lo and her husband's whopping bill includes $700,000 (350,000) to reserve a luxurious birthing suite at the hospital.

The pair shelled out a further $300,000 (150,000) on private doctors and nurses, $300,000 (150,000) on security and $100,000 (50,000) on personal assistants in the run-up to the birth.
