Cold air is expected to sweep most parts of north China, bringing strong winds and a sharp plunge in temperatures over the next three days, the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) forecast Friday.
Affected by the cold air, temperatures in the northwest and northeast of China as well as regions along the Yellow River and Huai River would drop by 4 to 8 degrees Celsius. Parts of Inner Mongolia, north and northeast China would see temperatures plunge by 10 to 12 degrees Celsius, according to the CMA.
Light snow or moderate snow is forecast in western Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northern parts of north China and Shandong Province. Heavy snow or snow storms are expected to hit parts of northeast China.
Fog will blanket parts of the provinces of Yunnan, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and Anhui this morning, which will reduce visibility to 1,000 meters or 200 meters in some parts.
