Indonesia's Forestry Ministry is focusing on rehabilitation, seeding and planting for 2011 with 10, 000 hectares for public seedbed garden and 300,000-400,000 hectares for new planting, a minister said here on Tuesday.
Forestry Minister Zulkifli Hasan told reporters that for the public seedbed garden, his ministry has intended to start the program in January.
"Hopefully, after six months, the seeds are six meter-high so that they have a better chance to live," said Hasan, adding that budget for the purpose could be ready to be allocated in early January.
In fact, he said, there is one institution under the ministry that could implement its programs in January.
He also said that the ministry is trying to save money to focus on green program.
"We want to erase seminars in hotels and unnecessary overseas visit, among others. We will focus on rehabilitation, seeding and planting," said Hasan.
