UN climate chief Christiana Figures now on Twitter

UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres has begun sending personal messages via her new Twitter account, @CFigueres.

The UN's top climate change official is this week sending first tweets from Pakistan, where around a million people are still homeless six months after last year's devastating floods.

With such disasters set to become more frequent and intense due to climate change, she is drawing attention to the need for rebuilding in Pakistan to be climate-smart.

Followers of the UN climate change process can also receive updates on the latest UNFCCC documents by following the UNFCCC's @UN_ClimateTalks Twitter account.
