A cold front will sweep eastern and southern China, bringing high winds and a drop in temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees starting Monday night, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
The NMC on Monday issued a blue alert for those regions and parts of China's southwest to prepare for temperature plunges and windy weather.
The agency also predicted high winds to persist in the regions until Wednesday morning.
The NMC also forecast rain or showers in southwest China and regions south of the Yangtze River Tuesday, while Inner Mongolia and parts of the northeast are likely to see snow.
