Responding to global challenges, water in an urbanizing world will be the main theme of this year's World Water Week to be held in Stockholm from August 21 to 27, said its organizer the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) on Tuesday.

"Over 2,500 politicians, business leaders, innovators and representatives of international organizations are set to meet at Water Week to discuss water challenges caused by rapid urbanization,"said Anders Berntel, executive director of SIWI.
More than 100 seminars, workshops and events will be held to discuss sustainable solutions to reuse limited water resources. A panel of city mayors from China, France, India, Philippines, Rwanda, Sweden and the U.S. will share lessons and experiences on urban water issues.
