Cold currents will bring lower temperatures and winds to north China in the next three days, weather forecasters said Thursday.

Cold air will send temperatures down in parts of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and northeastern China by three to six degrees Celsius on Thursday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.

Starting on Saturday night, temperatures in central and eastern Inner Mongolia, northeastern China and northern China will drop four to eight degrees Celsius under the influence of another cold current, said the NMC.

It forecast sunny and warm days for most of the other parts of China except parts of southern regions during the next three days.

Heavy rains are expected in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hainan Province and Guangdong Province on Thursday as a result of the tropical storm Nalgae and the cold current.

Nalgae, the No. 19 strong tropical storm this year, landed in the southernmost island province of Hainan on Tuesday afternoon and then weakened to a tropical storm.
