China's meteorological authority on Wednesday forecast rain for the country's central-eastern regions over the next few days.

Moderate and heavy rain is expected to fall along the Yangtze, Huai and Han rivers, as well as northern parts south of the Yangtze from Tuesday to Friday, said the National Meteorological Center.

Meanwhile, snow is likely to fall in most parts of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from Tuesday to Thursday, the center said.

During the period, heavy snow will hit the plateau's southern and eastern parts, eastern parts of Tibet autonomous region, northern and western parts of the Western Sichuan Plateau, the center said.

The center also forecasted that snow and sleet will sweep Inner Mongolia and northeast China from Wednesday to Friday.

Furthermore, winter wheat growing regions in north China are expected to see light rain on Wednesday and Thursday, the center added.
