Rainstorms or strong downpours will pound some regions in the provinces of Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and Zhejiang, as well as the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, in the coming hours until 8 a.m. Monday, the observatory said.
Some of these regions will experience torrential weather, it said, urging local authorities to closely monitor for geological disasters, such as floods and landslides.
Heavy rains or rainstorms will hit some southern regions again on Monday and Tuesday, it said.
Most parts of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau will be showered by moderate rains or snow during the next three days. Meanwhile, some areas in west China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region can also expect light or moderate rainfall, the observatory said.
