China's meteorological authorities on Thursday forecast continued rain in the country's southern regions and areas south of the Yangtze River.

Over the next three days, moderate and heavy rain will sweep most areas south of the Yangtze River, as well as southern regions in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, with precipitation ranging from 30 to 120 mm, the center said.

During the period, sporadic rainstorms, thunderstorms and hail will hit some regions in south China and the southern part of Yunnan Province.

Northern Yunnan and some areas in southern Sichuan province, which have recently dealt with droughts, will see drizzles starting from Saturday, the center said.
