Deep quake felt in parts of New Zealand's North Island

A deep 5.5 magnitude earthquake has been felt in parts of New Zealand's North Island on Saturday.

It struck at 2.39 p.m. local time on Saturday (0239 GMT) and was centred 20 km north-west of Rotorua at a depth of 220 km, New Zealand's government geological agency GNS Science reported.
