Fishermen in east China’s Zhejiang Province caught a manta ray weighing over 1,000 kilograms on Sept. 3, 2012.
The creature measures about eight meters in width and will be cut into pieces to be sold.
Manta rays are typically found in tropical and subtropical waters. They feed on plankton, fish larvae and the like.
