Landslides in Bogor district of West Java province, Indonesia on Monday killed three people and injured five others, an official said here.
The sand mining activities at the slope of a hill at Jugalajaya village of Jasinga sub-district were blamed for the falling of soil from the top of the hill and hit eight people, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of disaster management and mitigation agency said.
"Three people were killed, one suffered from serious injury and four others got light injuries," he told Xinhua by phone.
The wounded persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, said Sutopo.
