Tungurahua volcano in Ecuador erupts

Tungurahua volcano, which is 135 kilometers southeast of Ecuador’s capital Quito, erupted on Dec. 17, 2012, spewing large amounts of ash, gas and rock. Residents living near the volcano have been displaced. Authorities have issued an orange alert. [Chinanews.com]
