Tungurahua volcano in Ecuador erupts

Tungurahua volcano, which is 135 kilometers southeast of Ecuador’s capital Quito, erupted on Dec. 17, 2012, spewing large amounts of ash and gas . Residents living near the volcano have been displaced. Authorities have issued an orange alert. [Chinanews.com]
