Tropical storm Wukong (local name Quinta) which rammed through central Philippines damaged 124.43 million pesos (3.02 million U.S. dollars) worth of crops, the Philippine government said Friday.
According to the Agriculture department, the paddy rice sector bore the brunt of the storm, with farmers incurring losses estimated at 101.5 million pesos (2.46 million U.S. dollars).
Tropical storm Wukong also ravaged farm lands planted with vegetables and corn.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported Friday that the death toll from the storm has climbed to 11.
A total of 4,944 families or 28,242 people mostly in central Philippines were also affected by the storm.
