Several images of some odd-looking crops were recently posted online, purporting that these bizarre vegetables and fruits grown in the towns and villages surrounding Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant were contaminated following a leakage of radioactive water.

However, a post on a website in Japan reads that the images are not related to the Fukushima disaster. Experts have explained that the excessive use of fertilizer or high temperatures can be reasons for vegetables to turn out looking "misshaped."
