Adjust font size:

The Postmaster General of Hong Kong Tam Wing-pong Friday announced that more than HK$1.37 million (about US$176,300) was raised for the Sichuan Earthquake Relief Giant Panda Base Rebuilding Fund.

The Hong Kong Post earlier prepared 3,500 sets of Stamp Pack with Giant Panda Paw Print and 10 sets of Box Set with Clay Impression of Giant Panda Paw Print for sale. Response from the public has been overwhelming and a total of HK$1,375,000 was raised.

All the proceeds will be donated to the Sichuan Earthquake Relief Giant Panda Base Rebuilding Fund set up by the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation of Hong Kong for the rebuilding of panda facilities in Sichuan, giant panda's homeland.

The last 500 sets of Limited Edition Prestige Stamp Pack with Giant Panda Paw Print will be for sale at the Giant Panda Habitat Souvenir Shop at the Ocean Park Hong Kong on July 1. When all special products are sold, HK$1.5 million will be raised.
