Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu on Monday urged the Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF) to give scientific and personnel support for the country's modern forestation.
Hui made the remark in a congratulatory letter to the academy as it was marking its 50th founding anniversary.
He spoke highly of the contributions made by the academy in the past 50 years, especially since the country's reform and opening-up.
He urged the academy to pursue development in scientific way and keep innovating to build itself into top-class institution in the world.
He hoped the academy can offer formidable scientific and talent support for modern forestation and ecological improvement.
Founded on Oct. 27, 1958, the CAF has 19 research institutes, with 5,635 staff members.
