A 60-year-old man fought to catch a 1.14m long fish for two hours until it finally gave up last Wednesday.

The man was fishing in a river in Jilin Province, when he caught a big one, which wouldn't give up without a good long fight.

It took him two hours and a lot of help from other fishermen to haul the 17kg fish ashore.

The man sold the fish for 500 yuan (US$73).
